meet you guys again!"
"The most intense game I have ever played."
"Epic. Simply epic"
These are some of the comments from the first Frontlines Fuel of War: Armageddon Tournament. Though we had our doubts how well the small squad CQB style would work out, it turned out to be far better than we imagined. The biggest problem now after the tourney is we're getting complaints that playing in public servers is just plain boring after having competed.
While we obviously want to congratulate our winners, we also want to recognize all the teams that participated including 9thinf, SCE, MHS, n!, Solstice, and D4S. Personally speaking, it was a lot of fun meeting the players and every team that competed did an absolutely outstanding job. First and foremost, this tournament was about boosting the community, and while 8 teams sounds small, this site has nearly 100 registered members, compare that to the few of us left playing and you'll find that it's actually a signifigant percentage.
So, is this the end? Well, despite the name Armageddon, it definitely isn't. We are already making plans for FFOW: Armageddon 2, with higher cash prizes, more swag, and multiple divisions and servers. With new maps just around the corner, we hope to double the interest in this tournament. The best way we can do that is you have you, our members, help spread the word. While FFOW may never have a large following, there is certainly room to grow it. In addition to the world class talen we had this time around, I would really like to see smaller groups combining, perhaps teams forming from lone wolf individuals that aren't in clans. The success of FFOW in the long run is in our hands, no amount of marketing can achieve community wide promotion. In the end, having more people to shoot is what it's all about!
Thanks again to our competitors and congratulations to our first champions, {SAS}!
